To connect the controller, simply plug it in or just press the PS button and it will automatically pair with the computer.
If you are on any version of windows before Windows 8, select Install Xbox360 controller driver as well.
If you are on Windows Vista, then you must click force install. Select the ones that apply to you then look left and select the appropriate devices that correspond to the device you want to install the driver to. On this program, You can choose to install drivers for Bluetooth, PS3, PS4 controllers, etc. If not, you can search for ScpToolkit Driver Installer. When the installer finishes, the driver installation page should open up. It is worth noting that the actual driver installation does not happen until later. This will install the tools onto your computer. When installing, you can leave everything at its default values. Steam makes everything easiest, but with a little outside help, even games from the Microsoft Store will play perfectly with Sony's controller.Before beginning, make sure that if you have a bluetooth dongle, it is plugged in and that Windows has installed the appropriate drivers for it. Using an Xbox controller is still probably the best way to get gamepad inputs into your PC games, but if you don't have one of those and you do have a PS5, then this is a perfectly fine alternative. From here on out you just need to load up your games and, well, play them. You might need to reboot your PC and re-connect the controller after you first install the drivers.Īssuming all goes to plan, DS4Windows will now recognize your controller.
